Research is for when you need answers to questions. This could consist simply looking up something online or doing a full blown experiment with independent and dependent variables. People do research because we have a curious nature and constantly want to know more. Different methods are required for research because a lab experiment is not going to be able to tell you how many people are homeless in the united states. I have used experiments, correlation studies, naturalistic observation, self reports, and descriptive studies. I feel as though I have a pretty good grasp of what research is but i’m sure there are things that I don’t know and have not learned.

I agree that there are many different types of research that people can do. I also think that I have a full understanding of what research is, but there might be other kinds of research out there that I’ve never heard of or performed.
